Matthew Boardwell grew up in small town West Michigan where his faith was nurtured in a non-denominational country church.  After sensing God’s call to ministry at a Bible camp as a teen, he pursued every ministry opportunity he could find, including touring music ministries, open-air evangelism and preaching, Fellowship of Christian Students, and church internships.  To get training for full-time Christian service, he attended Briercrest Bible College in Saskatchewan, Canada, where he earned a BA in Pastoral Ministries and met his wife Pam.  They married in 1991 after graduation and moved to Colorado, where Matthew served Mountain View Baptist Church in Lafayette as Associate Pastor for 9½ years.  In response to Erie’s rapid growth and the need for healthy churches, Matthew and Pam planted Life Song Church in the summer of 2000.
The Boardwells keep very busy raising and homeschooling their 8 Colorado natives, Ben, Nathanael, Zachary, Jonnavin, Katelynn, Jilliann, Adam, and Zephani.  In 2009, they took the whole family to the UK and Ireland for 2 months to follow the paths of early Irish Christian missionaries.  Pam teaches music to over 50 children and Matthew is currently wrapping up his MA in Christian Studies at Rivendell College in Boulder.

Michael Dittman

Michael Dittman is the main teaching elder for the adult education ministries of the church. Michael is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary with a Masters in Theology. He was pastor of a small church in NJ for a short time before God redirected his life and sent him to Colorado. He works bivocationally as an optical engineer at Ball Aerospace and as a pastor / teacher. He has been married for twenty years to a woman he doesn’t deserve, and has two adopted children. Michael’s calling and gifting from God are to teach and equip Christians for maturity and service in the body of Christ. Besides designing telescopes and teaching Scripture, Michael loves to read, sing, and pretend he’s going to write books. If you know Michael, you can also be his friend on Facebook. Michael is very grateful for the opportunity to minister alongside Matthew, Eddie, and Stephen. Their passions and giftedness encourage him and fill in where he is weak. He’s never seen a better blend of ministry leadership.

Greg Whitehead

Greg Whitehead went to high school and college in Boulder, Colorado.  After earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, he moved to Las Vegas and worked as an architectural draftsman. In Las Vegas, he surrendered to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
Greg earned a degree of Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. As a seminary student he served in the children’s ministry of an inner city ministry.

Greg served 2 years with the International Mission Board in Novosibirsk, (Siberian) Russia as an ESL Teacher. Afterwards, Greg was a resident chaplain at a Denver hospital and earned four units of Clinical Pastoral Education.
In 2001, Greg went on a short term mission trip to Brazil and there met his future wife, Fafa. They were married the same year and, later, began to minister to street kids, foster and homeless children in Brazil.  In 2005, Greg and Fafa founded and ran a non-profit ministry in Brazil for poor rural children. At the end of 2007, the after-school ministry was serving fifty children a day.
Greg and Fafa currently serve in Life Song as leaders of Wee Worship. The challenges of children’s ministry developed a strong conviction in Greg to teach children about Jesus and the Bible in creative and fun ways.
Greg enjoys spending time with his wife, as well as reading and doing creative projects.  Humbled and honored by his new role as elder, Greg anticipates that God will do great things in Life Song Church.
